Transmission |
|
Due to its high amorphous content and its
crystalline phase with an extremely fine dispersion,
Moldflon™ is highly transparent, particularly
when used in thin sheets and coatings. The
graph below shows the transmission of a 1-mm
sheet for the UV range, 200–400 nm, and the
wave length range of visible light, 400–800 nm.
In direct comparison with PFA, modified PTFE and conventional PTFE Moldflon™ is found to be the material with the highest degree of transmission. This property, for example, can be used advantageously in hose applications for sterilization processes using light: A high yield of light, particularly in the UV range, is the application-engineering benefit of this material property.
